Working with HEART

We are not rigid in our approach because every project, client and situation is unique. But we believe in a clearly defined process for every client that follows a set of methodology from beginning to end.  We evolve during our design process rather than straightforward execution. Knowing our clients and their needs allows us to be adaptable, create value and achieve your project goals.

The “Working Blueprint”

Getting to know you and your project

The pre-design phase:   We kick off with an initial client meeting at the office or by phone to discuss the project scope. From there we set a date for an on-site meeting to understand the site, home or building.  Being on site provides us with the most accurate information for your project. Following our two meetings we will put together a project scope of work, timeline, and investment for your approval. Once executed we start design!

Turning your vision into reality

The schematic design phase: In this next phase our team begins to translate the client's wishes into a building design concept. This may involve sketches, drawings, 3D renderings, and preliminary site plans, floor plans, and building elevations. We talk frequently during the schematic design phase.

When the details matter

The design development phase: This is the phase where our design intent manifests as a detailed plan. If the project requires a structural engineer, that person typically joins our team at this point.. At this point, a more realistic cost estimate will come into view.

Your vision is officially on paper

The construction documents phase: In this next phase of the architectural design process, design becomes a reality. We produce two sets of detailed drawings that specify every detail of your final design. One set is called the construction set, and it remains on-site throughout the

construction process. The other set is called the permit set, which we send to the local permitting authority, whether that's a city or a county. In a design-build project, the in-house construction contractor becomes involved at this point.
